This is lead to the current cooperation. The cooperation works great. In the day to day reality, the people of Weee Nederland are well reachable and they are in Amsterdam regularly to talk business. They take a problemsolving approach to the challenges we face. Furthermore, they provide support in realizing a better sorting process. The personal approach is what speaks to us, certainly the attention to the work floor is great. Wim Bunnik continues: ‘Weee Nederland takes care of the dismantling and cleaning up of the streams. And very important: they do this with an eye for people which have a hard time on the job market. We think SROI is very important.
We see the future of WEEE sorting and recycling as chance to do business in an sustainable and socially responsible way and to give a practical implementation of SROI. We do this together with every producer chain that bear a responsibility to recycle appliances that they put on the market. Weee Nederland is an important partner in this. We think it is important to add value to chain as early as possible regarding re-use of materials. Prevention is the most important, but if there is no other way we have to try to put as much emphasis on the re-usage of resources as possible.
