The textile directive is coming

The European Commission is pushing ahead with rules to make producers responsible for the full life cycle of textile products and to support the sustainable management of textile waste across the EU. Currently, a number of countries have introduced producer responsibility for textiles. There, you already have to meet the targets introduced by the government, along with registration and reporting requirements.
